Freshworks Launches Freshping, a Free Website Monitoring Tool, following acquisition of Insping

New feature allows SMBs, bloggers and MSPs to automatically track critical sites and APIs; complements Freshdesk and Freshservice

Freshworks, a global leader in customer engagement cloud software has launched Freshping, a free real-time website monitoring tool based on the recently acquired Insping. Freshping can be easily set up to monitor websites and send downtime notifications in real time via Freshworks’ customer engagement platform as well as traditional channels such as email and SMS.

As an alternative to other website monitoring tools which are plagued by outdated user interfaces, false alerts and hidden costs, Freshping allows users to easily monitor their websites, APIs and even servers and ports for free.

How Freshping fits into Freshworks

  • The Freshdesk-Freshping integration allows support teams to create tickets during downtimes, collaborate with internal teams and communicate to customers effectively.
  • The Freshservice-Freshping integration allows server or hardware downtimes to be reported as incidents. This functionality enables IT teams to carry out incident management, SLA reporting, asset monitoring and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) using Freshservice.

The free forever plan will be available for SMBs and will allow users to monitor up to 50 websites/blogs, APIs and ports at one-minute intervals from servers in 10+ global locations. Reporting downtime with Freshping is near real-time via email, SMS & Slack notifications. The plan also offers up to five public status pages for websites to display. For large teams and enterprises that require monitoring of more than 50 websites, pricing plan will start from $42 per month.

A public beta of Freshping was unveiled on Product Hunt and it went on to become the most upvoted product of the day (August 28th, 2018) and eventually the most upvoted product of the week.
