Freshworks is more than just the products you know and love—it’s a company of people. Starting with this column, we’ll feature some of the “faces of Freshworks” in this space each month. If you’re interested in learning more about working at Freshworks, start here.

Being a field marketer isn’t just parties and travel, it’s actually more than that, says Callum Jones. For the UK and Ireland region, he orchestrates alignment so the right customers hear the right story at the right moment—and leave with a next step. Over more than five years at Freshworks, he’s turned go-to-market strategy into relevance on the ground, from executive workshops to Freshworks' biggest EMEA gathering at Emirates Stadium. Off the clock, he resets on two wheels—long rides, including a London-to-Paris in 24 hours—a steady, route-by-route mindset that shows up in how he builds programs that create progress, not just attendance.

What does a day in field marketing look like?

In my role as field marketing lead for the UKI market, I focus on demand generation for new business and also support customer engagement across the region. Most days involve working closely with sales, customer success, and partner teams to turn our go-to-market strategy into real, practical campaigns—things like digital activations, in-person events, customer workshops or content programs.

What might surprise people about field marketing?

People might not realize how strategic field marketing is—it’s not just about events or campaigns, but about telling the Freshworks story in ways that truly resonate with both prospects and long-time customers.

What’s on your to-do list right now?
  • Demand generation for new business

  • Support customer engagement

  • Sales, customer success & partner team collaboration

After 5+ years at Freshworks, what keeps me here are the people and team energy, and seeing everyone come together for milestone events.

Tell us about a recent proud moment.

I’m really proud to have led Refresh Europe 2025 in London, our biggest European event yet, bringing together prospects, customers, and partners for a packed day at Emirates Stadium.

After 5+ years at Freshworks, it’s the people and team energy that keep me here, and seeing everyone come together for this milestone event was incredibly motivating. I’m proud to have helped elevate our brand in such a meaningful way.

What are you uncomplicating right now?

Building more initiatives for our UKI customer base—supporting the CS and account management teams with programs that help retain and grow relationships. A big part of that is simplifying how we access and act on customer insights, so we can deliver more valuable, connected experiences.

How do you switch off outside of work?

Cycling is a big one for me. It’s the best way I’ve found to switch off from work and properly clear my head. I’ve done everything from weekend rides around the UK to cycling from London to Paris in 24 hours. It’s great for fitness but also scratches that itch for a bit of adventure.

If anyone’s looking for something that’s active, social, and a proper break from screens—I can’t recommend it enough.
