The Freshworks journey to becoming India’s first SaaS Unicorn
In July 2018, Freshworks joined other industry giants in the prestigious Unicorn club —startups valued at over $1 billion.
We knew we would hit this mark, but it was humbling to actually reach this milestone earlier this year, and be the first Indian SaaS company to get there. We’re grateful for the opportunity to shoulder the responsibility that comes with this.
The journey from our inception to where we stand today has been quite monumental, and life-altering, to say the least.
When our CEO Girish Mathrubootham founded Freshdesk in 2010, it was the first step towards creating Freshworks, a multi-product SaaS company. The focus was always on creating great products and placing emphasis on customer experience, and we are proud to say that we have not strayed from our core objectives.
Turning a Unicorn is part of the journey, and is helping us sharpen our focus on our goals ahead. Notably, this includes the evolution and progress of Freshworks 360, an integrated customer engagement platform of SaaS products that combines support, sales, and marketing.
Even as we are celebrating our Unicorn status, we will certainly stay grounded. In the words of G, “As a growing company, an entrepreneur can get distracted by a number of things, but the focus should be on building the product. A great product, will ensure long mileage for the company.”
