Deepu Chandrappa

How would you describe your job to someone who doesn’t work in IT?
As the Manager – Quality Assurance, I bring more than 15 years of first-hand experience in software testing to the team where we test automation, microservices/web services/API, performance, and functionality of software products and systems.

What’s a project you’ve worked on that makes you proud?
The PeopleHub project is a major implementation for the organization, and I am really proud to be part of that project and to drive the end-to-end Quality Assurance process.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received in your career?
Never stop learning. This will improve the way you think, and of course, your knowledge.

One thing we can’t guess about you from your LinkedIn profile?
I am a good singer and have performed at many events. I’m also a weekend farmer and I enjoy organic farming on a small piece of land in Mysuru to provide healthy food to society.

What do you think about when you’re not thinking about IT?
The IT team plays a crucial role in any organization as part of support and business continuity, so I’m always thinking about IT!

What was your first job?
I started my career in iGATE Global Solutions as a Software Engineer, which was acquired by Capgemini.

Deven Storey

How would you describe your job to someone who doesn’t work in IT?
In a nutshell, my job is to make sure other people can do their jobs – think of me as a mechanic, therapist, and problem solver all in one.

What’s a project you’ve worked on that makes you proud?
Building out IT operations for Freshworks’ Denver Office from the ground up. It was such a rare, interesting, and exciting position to take on!

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received in your career?
I used to work in a call center in the IT consulting space. I was working from an office where I was surrounded by C-level executives. It was intimidating, but my wife reminded me that they’re all just people too – and people looking for IT help.

One thing we can’t guess about you from your LinkedIn profile?
I’m a super avid snowboarder, and I used to do some serious rock climbing as well.

What do you think about when you’re not thinking about IT?
My next vacation destination and what country I’d like to retire in. I currently want to check out Portugal and Spain – perhaps for both purposes.

What was your first job?
I didn’t get into IT until later in my career. I started out in construction, building new houses, as well as doing plumbing and gas piping.

Kayal Vizhi Sundarraj

How would you describe your job to someone who doesn’t work in IT?
As an RPA Developer, my job is to make life easier for others by automating repetitive processes using some of the cutting-edge bot and automation technology. For example, if an employee raises an application access request in a support portal, the bot will kick in and analyze the requirement based on the rules and provision the access and entitlement within seconds.

What’s a project you’ve worked on that makes you proud?
Since I started my career, I have always cherished working on projects that have an immediate impact on the end user. I started and led the project for GitHub auto-provisioning for Azure users. I explored the use cases and learned the concepts in two weeks, which resulted in quick implementation. Accomplishing this gave me a sense of pride and the motivation and confidence to keep doing more.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received in your career?
I used to receive a lot of advice but I always self-motivate myself and follow the three mantras in my life and career:
1. Believe in yourself
2. Never stop learning
3. Always be positive

One thing we can’t guess about you from your LinkedIn profile?
I enjoy cooking different types of cuisines.

What do you think about when you’re not thinking about IT?
I think about becoming a mariner and traveling around the world on a ship!

What was your first job?
I ran a stationery shop part-time during my school and college years.
