CIOs and CISOs may occupy different seats in the C-suite, but they must work closely together to tackle big challenges related to IT infrastructure. 

A recent InformationWeek article focuses on the most common pain points, with key insights from Prasad Ramakrishnan, CIO at Freshworks.

When companies take on too many tools and apps, “security becomes an afterthought,” says Ramakrishnan. In fact, the more-is-better approach has spawned what Carl Froggett, CIO at cybersecurity company Deep Instinct, calls a “sprawling technology stack,” spelling operational and security nightmares, not to mention data governance headaches. 

The fix? Declutter and simplify.
