Facilities Industry

The facilities department is an integral part of the administrative field. It takes charge of activities like keeping spaces and infrastructure in proper operating condition and prevention of equipment failure.

What to expect from the role

  • Hands-on experience in overseeing the maintenance of spaces, appliances, and equipment.
  • Learning how to organize, multitask and manage time.
  • Learn on the job regarding the best practices in cleaning, maintenance, and management tasks.
  • Exposure to the facilities department and its various responsibilities.


  • Oversee that the facilities in our workplace are maintained well.
  • Ensure that the environment is clean and tidy.
  • Ensure that the previous day's garbage is cleared up for the next day.
  • To ensure the janitors and cleaners are working on time and regularly.
  • Maintain an inventory of all the cleaning equipment and regularly replenish.
  • Authorize regular security checks, health check-ups and sanitization routines such as pest control.
  • Ensure the plants are watered regularly.
  • Oversee that the place is appropriately shut down after hours and secure.
  • Take on significant damages and ensure they are repaired in time.


  • Must have at least graduated high school.
  • Good sense of cleanliness and knowledge of best practices.
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment, usage of chemicals and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Aware of safe disposal techniques.
  • Focussed with proper multitasking and time management skills.

Median Salary is $11.95 per hour
