Prep Cook

We are looking for a prep cook to help us get the kitchen ready before service begins. You will be required to follow the preparation list as given by the chefs and perform tasks like cutting and boiling vegetables, reducing sauces and making broths. You will also be required to ensure the kitchen and workstations are clean and tidy, up to the health and safety standards. Your contribution will help increase the efficiency of our kitchen and its functions.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the kitchen environment and stations are clean and ready for cooking.
  • Perform other kitchen tasks as necessary.
  • Follow health and sanitation guidelines.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in the industry.


Requirements

  • Graduated high school.
  • Training or certification from a culinary school.
  • A degree in hotel management is an added bonus.
  • Prior experience as a cook.
  • Ability to work with kitchen equipment such as mixers, grinders and cutting tools.
  • Ability to work for long hours, good physical stamina.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent idea of cleanliness.

The median salary is $10.65 per hour.
