Server

We are looking for a server at our restaurant who will serve food and beverages to our patrons and perform other tasks such as laying the table, cleaning the dishes and handling cash transactions. As a server, you will need to be courteous, well mannered and prioritize customer satisfaction. Your service should add value to the experience we provide at our restaurant and therefore impact our growth.


Hospitality Industry

What to expect from the role

Responsibilities

  • Setting tables by ensuring cutlery, napkins, utensils, condiments, and other items are in place.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the menu and specials to help suggest and choose dishes for the patrons.
  • Being prompt at serving orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen.
  • Serving wines and other beverages as ordered.
  • Removing courses as and when completed, refilling water glasses, and clearing the table for the next round.
  • Wiping spills and replacing tablecloth or providing extra napkins if needed.
  • Keep track of changes in the menu and an inventory of kitchen and restaurant items.
  • Interacting with patrons in a friendly manner and greeting them properly.
  • Totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, delivering bill and payment to host, and returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.
  • Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.


Requirements

  • Must have at least graduated high school.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills to appropriately handle any situation.
  • A friendly, relaxing demeanor, with courteousness and quick service, will help get repeat customers.
  • Basic computer skills to process transactions, generate receipts, and so on.
  • Team building attitude, so you can work with other servers, busboys, bartenders, and cooks to provide a pleasant dining experience for patrons.
