Hires Dilawar Syed as President of North America Operations to Fuel Growth

Freshdesk Inc., a leading provider of customer management software, announced that it has increased its user base by five fold last year and unveiled plans to expand the company’s U.S. operations.
With the U.S. leading in Freshdesk’s more than 15,000 customers globally, the company plans to use the $7 million Series C round it raised from Tiger Global Management and Accel Partners to scale sales, support, marketing and partnership operations in North America. Key American customers include: Hugo Boss, The Atlantic, Goodreads and the Stanford School of Medicine. As President North America, Dilawar Syed will lead Freshdesk’s sales, marketing and partnership ecosystem efforts to aggressively grow and scale the U.S. business from Silicon Valley.
Dilawar’s career spans consumer web and enterprise software. Formerly Head of Strategy and Operations at Yahoo!’s Platforms and Infrastructure division, Dilawar served in product marketing leadership roles driving the launch of customer management solutions at SAP and Siebel Systems where he built Siebel's Telco integration platform to a multi-million dollar business globally. Most recently, Dilawar led a transformation effort at Tiger Global-backed Yonja Media, an international social media company, expanding the company’s user reach three-fold through new products and acquisitions. Dilawar is active in civic and entrepreneurship efforts globally and serves on President Obama’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

Freshdesk’s U.S. plans come on the heels of the company’s launch of Freshservice. Freshservice is targeted at companies looking for a service desk to manage their internal IT support needs. With the new solution, Freshdesk plans to disrupt the IT service market, which is currently serviced by incumbents ServiceNow and BMC Remedy.
