When it comes to a hiring process, even though it can be abstracted to the same barebones process – find, interview, hire -, every company does it, differently. Based on location, size, revenue, funding etc., every company’s sourcing/interviewing/hiring method differs.

Every customer conversation always led back to the same well-trod path: “That sounds great but what about job boards? What’s your reach like? How can I better my sourcing methods?”
It’s a candidate’s market and recruiters are focused on making sure that their reach extends far and wide. No job board integrations meant a break in the seamless hiring experience we were promising – customers were getting candidates from job boards but the lack of integrations meant they had to manually add them to the system. It should come as no surprise to you that this is a deal breaker for many recruiters.
Naturally, we tried to move as fast as possible and integrate with the big job boards like LinkedIn and Indeed but guess what? Hiring is not a one-size-fits-all kind of process. There were just so many requests for different kinds of job boards that we could build just job board integrations for the next decade and still not be done (Not to mention, some customers might have to wait for a decade to get their solution).
We clearly needed to rethink the way we do job board integrations so that it could work for customers. And that’s how Listener was born – we built Listener to empower our customers and easily convert job board applications into candidates without waiting on us for an official integration.
