How would you describe your job to someone who doesn’t work in IT?
In Quality Assurance, we test software to ensure it works the way it should. To do this, we gather all the requirements from the program manager/product manager and test all possible scenarios to make sure we deliver high-quality applications.

What’s a project you’ve worked on that makes you proud?
I worked on the PeopleHub application testing and worked to meet the production deadline on time. It makes me happy and proud to know that all our Freshworks employees are now using the product that I have worked on.

What do you think about when you’re not thinking about IT?
It is difficult not to think about IT, since it serves as a backbone for every business unit in the company. When there’s a problem with a system, we’re the first team employees reach out to for help.

What was your first job?
I started my career as a software test engineer in a healthcare-based product company.

What’s a project you’ve worked on that makes you proud?
There have been so many, and I work as a team so it’s never just my efforts, but I think the most noticeable would be our Microsoft 365 migration from an on-site exchange. There were over 400 mailboxes with terabytes of emails that had to be kept in compliance.

Always plan for the worst-case scenario: Murphy’s Law never fails.

I am a dog lover. I have a 14-year-old American Staffordshire named Texas. I am also an avid “Car and Driver” enthusiast and I have been known to chat you up in the garage about your fast car. So don’t be alarmed – I’m not stalking you, just your car!

What do you think about when you’re not thinking about IT?
Real estate – my wife and I own three rental properties. We didn’t have any generational wealth from our parents so we wanted to make sure to invest to have something to give our children for their future. It’s been crazy throughout COVID and it is another job in itself, but we still feel like it was a great choice.

What was your first job?
I worked as a back of house help at the Mexican fruit stand La Paletera in Corpus Christi, Texas, circa 2000.
